Estaleiro Rio Maguari moves forward with the delivery of two additional tugboats to Svitzer Brazil

The SN Cariri tugboat, built by Estaleiro Rio Maguari for Sulnorte Serviços Marítimos Ltda., has been recognized as the Best Medium Harbour Tug at the 2024 Baird Maritime Awards, one of the most respected international honors in the global maritime industry.
Presented by the specialized publication Baird Maritime, the award highlights vessels and naval projects that stand out in categories such as innovation, construction quality, operational performance, and environmental impact.
In a statement to Baird Maritime, Sulnorte noted that “the essence of the SN Cariri lies in its perfect combination of modern design, high performance, and robustness.”
Estaleiro Rio Maguari’s Commercial Director, Fabio Vasconcellos, emphasized that the international recognition reinforces the shipyard’s technical capability:
“The award received by the SN Cariri demonstrates Estaleiro Rio Maguari’s ability to meet the highest quality standards. We are expanding our presence in the international market, focusing on exporting high-performance tugboats to operators in Latin America and West Africa.”
This achievement also marks an important milestone for Sulnorte, strengthening its reputation for operational excellence in the Brazilian port sector.
