Rio Maguari participates in the ceremony presenting Svitzer’s tugboat fleet in Santos

Our commercial director, Fabio Vasconcellos, participated in the fleet presentation ceremony by the Svitzer client, showcasing the three tugboats delivered by Rio Maguari Shipyard: Svitzer Atanásio, Svitzer Monte KT, and Svitzer Rocha Pedro, which are part of a series of six azimuth propulsion vessels ordered from Rio Maguari Shipyard (PA).

The ceremony was attended by Svitzer Americas President, Arjen Van Dijk, and Svitzer Brazil President, Daniel Reedtz Cohen. The event took place on the São Paulo coast, on April 4th, at the Port of Santos (SP).

Vasconcellos emphasized that the delivery of the new Svitzer tugboats and orders for other units for Sulnorte have firmly placed the Pará shipyard in the circuit of shipyards capable of building large-scale tugboats in Brazil. “Our next step, undoubtedly, is to achieve a competitive commercial condition against international shipyards to begin exporting the first tugboats.”
