Rio Maguari delivers the Svitzer Copacabana tugboat to Svitzer

Rio Maguari has delivered the Svitzer Copacabana, the first in a series of three tugboats ordered by Svitzer Brazil. The vessel measures 23.2 meters, has a 70-ton bollard pull, and is equipped with an external firefighting system, designed specifically for operations involving FSRU natural gas vessels.

According to Fabio Vasconcellos, Commercial Director of Estaleiro Rio Maguari, the delivery strengthens the long-standing partnership between the companies. “The delivery of the Svitzer Copacabana marks another milestone in the four-year relationship between Estaleiro Rio Maguari and Svitzer. This is the seventh tugboat delivered, out of a total of 11 contracted so far. For ERM, it is a source of pride to meet the strict contractual requirements for deadlines and quality, reinforcing a long-term partnership that supports Svitzer’s growth strategy in Brazil,” he stated.

The president of Svitzer Brazil, Daniel Reedtz Cohen, highlights the strategic importance of the new vessel. “The Svitzer Copacabana reflects our long-term commitment to the Brazilian market and our confidence in the potential for expansion in port and energy operations in the country,” he noted.
