Rio Maguari completes series of 6 azimuthal tugboats for Svitzer

12 de June de 2024The Rio Maguari Shipyard has completed the delivery of the six azimuth propulsion vessels ordered by the client Svitzer with the Svitzer Babitonga tugboat.

“The delivery of the Svitzer Babitonga marks an important milestone in concluding the program of six newbuilds as a way to support our continuous growth journey in Brazil,” said Daniel Reedtz Cohen, Managing Director Svitzer Brazil. “With the delivery of these tugs, Svitzer concludes a comprehensive tugboat program aimed at supporting port infrastructure and towage in the region.”
For Fabio Vasconcellos, our Commercial Director: “The delivery of the six tugboats to Svitzer strengthens the position of the Rio Maguari Shipyard in the large tugboat market in Brazil. Our next goal is to start exporting these vessels, mainly to operators in Latin America and West Africa.”
The ASD Tugboats of the 2300 RAmparts Series, designed by Robert Allan, have a speed of up to 13 knots, a total length of 23.2 meters, a bollard pull of 70 tons, and are equipped with a FiFi-1 firefighting capabilities.
